We never heard it but there was a call for assistance from the Coast Guard near Petersburg earlier in the week. A small boat had run out of gas and needed help. The Coast Guard quickly determined they were not in distress so the protocol is to ask mariners for help and offer to call for professional response. If life or property is not in danger, the Coast Guard will not dispatch public assets to assist. It turned out that Zuckerberg’s fleet was nearby but did not immediately respond to the Coast Guard’s call because they were on a different channel at the time. When the main superyacht Launchpad realized what was going on, stopped near the boat requesting assistance and contacted the Coast Guard, a small cruise ship - Wilderness Legacy - was already responding. So, Launchpad stayed on scene while Wilderness Legacy refueled them and escorted them to a safe bay to anchor. The press has not been very kind to Zuckerberg (who wasn’t even on the yacht) nor was the captain of the small cruise ship. Of course, nobody criticizes the person that ran out of gas in the middle of the night tying up the Coast Guard and hundreds of million dollars of private assets.
