We left and went out through the locks May 26. We filled with fuel over at Paulsbo. 464 gallons at $5.50/gallon. Should last us most of the season. We spent a couple of nights at anchor and then headed to Ostrich Bay.
We had been planning a reunion with Rob and Rose Benson. They were part of “lobster fleet” having gone through the Panama canal on their sailboat at the same time we did. They are now traveling about in their RV sprinter van. They were planning to pass through town for a quick visit. We asked them to meet us at Shilshole bay on our way back inbound through the locks figuring they would get a kick out of traveling back through the locks with us. Indeed they confirmed they had never been through the Seattle locks.
After getting back through the locks, we put out a spread for lunch.
Then we spent the afternoon cruising around the lake looking at all the usual sights around Lake Washington – Bill Gates house, Bezos estate, the giant T-Rex.
After the tour around the lake, we ordered Thai food for dinner and had it delivered to the dock.
They got a kick out of the fact that we still have a box of Clos aboard. (Inside joke. It’s not wine, but its clos.)
